White Swan

The White Swan

Today, I spent a couple of hours at Hillsborough forest lake shooting some photos of the Swans and Ducks. Below are a couple of the photos I shot of one particular swan which I thought was a beauty...

The White Swan

These photo were shot with a Canon PowerShot 150 IS Compact camera on a very cold day, in County Down, Northern Ireland, where gloves were a necessity. The beautiful white swan and many others can be found at Hillsborough Lake.

Instagram

My addiction to Instagram

Instagram has created a means for myself and many others, who own an Android mobile phone or iPhone, to express ones passion for photography by providing a fun way to share photos with friends and family. It has enabled me to edit photos, using a choice of filters that transform the look and feel. Here are some of my Instagram photos that I have created:

I must confess though, I'm addicted to Instagram. I absolutely love using the app and I look forward to sharing more Instagram photos with my friends, family and other individuals who have a passion for Photography, Andrography and iPhoneography.

For those that would like to follow me, my username is: 'lilroseann'.

The Moon

The Moon...

At 10:50pm at night, on the 29th of August 2012, I decided to go outside and take a photo of the Moon. The night sky was slightly cloudy and I used my recently bought Canon PowerShot SX150 IS digital camera to shoot photos of the moon. I wasn't expected anything specular as the moon felt so far away and it was rather cloudy, so I was surprised when the photos came out rather well...

The moon - 29th August 2012

At 1.20am, 30th August 2010, I decided to go back outside to take more photos of the moon as the sky had cleared up. I focused more closely on the moon and this was the results...

The moon - 30th August 2012

The moon wasn't quite full and therefore I went outside again and shoot more photos of the moon at 9:42pm, the photos I shot were far beyond what I expected for the type of camera I had...

Macro Photography

Learning to grasp macro photography...

I'm on a journey to find out how to take macro pictures?! Macro photography is photography magnified. It's when we increase the size of the object in our picture from about half life-size, to five times life-size. A photo tip which I've only just recently learnt.

I began by taking a picture of a Bumble Bee

...but to me the Bumble Bee wasn't quite big enough, so a few days later, I grabbed my camera and walked into my garden which at the time was an overgrown piece of grassland. I searched for any kind of insect I could find and practiced with my camera macro photography...

The Fly

The Flying Ants

The Spider

As you can see, I still haven't quite grasped macro photography but I am getting closer to great macro shots. A year of practice and more advice about photo tips may do it?! I'll make sure that practicing often......and maybe one day I'll have that Great Macro Shot.

Remember to dream...and never give up!

Emerald Honeydew Photography Blogging...

How it all began on Newcastle beach, Northern Ireland...

I began to have a passion for photography over two years ago as I walked along the beach.
I loved seeing the beauty that surrounded me, during the day...

 ...and evening

One evening I decided that I will get up early to watch the sunrise.
I woke up at 5am and by 6am I was on the beach watching the sunrise...

It was an amazing experience to walk along the beach all alone,
shooting photos of a beautiful sunrise.
The passion for photography grew more and more...

...and now its part of my life.
It's a hobby that I do for enjoyment and a way for me to share
with others the beauty of Northern Ireland. I'll share more in my next post.
